Assignment 2- "Monograms Part 2"- [Poster & Pattern]

All of us started to move on to the part 2 of the monogram assignment and that is poster and pattern. The requirement for this assignment is that we have to make both of our poster and pattern in an A3 size paper and stick it on a A2 size mounting board as a frame. For the pattern, pretty Ms. Lisa advised us to work on an A2 size first, and find the spot that we think it looks better and cut it out into A3 size.

I had done some sketches for my patterns and one for my poster since I'm not that good on it. Ms. Lisa chose the horizontal-type for my poster.

As for my pattern, Ms. Lisa chose the fourth one at first because it can become continues but unfortunately, it couldn't join it that well because there is a hole at the bottom. So in the end, Ms. Lisa called me go for the second one

Then, I started to draw it out first on the tracing paper and also the transparent paper.

Then I cut it out..

Later on, I try to design it on a tracing paper to see which pattern give the best feel for the final outcome. This is like the continues pattern in a row.

 Continues pattern

As for this is the joint part was different so it would looks like a bee hives for the final outcome.

Bee hive pattern? :)

I think I will go for the continues pattern. :)

Assignment 2- "Monograms"- [Awakening!] Part 3

The next day, I started to stencil on my paper box that I just bought not long ago. I borrowed the acrylic from June since I don't have it. Then I placed nice and stick it tightly so it doesn't go off-shape.

I was like keep praying that the outcome would be good and neat but...

  I SCREWED IT AGAIN?! T.T

I'll fix it later for my paper box...

Next attempt is the glassine bag set, well, it looks like a plastic paper bag and it was a little bit smudge.

Assignment 2- "Monograms"- [Awakening!] Part 2

I continue to do the stenciling for my items and the outcome for my Iphone case wasn't that good.

So I decided to use nail polish remover to clean the outer part. And the outcome was like..

CLEAN!

My phone cases has a secret, it will change color from white to purple during daylight and it will glow during the night! :D

For my file clipper board, it turns out well at first but the black part got smudge accidentally when I put it together with my books T^T

I don't wish to see this ugly form during my presentation, so I sprayed it again with risk. Thank god, the outcome was fine. :)

As for the book, I can say it looks like galaxy-style :P

To be continue.... :)

Assignment 2- "Monograms"- [Awakening!] Part 4

Attempt 4 was better than the previous attempt. :) The outcome was better and thank god these items are the most expensive among all of it.

The process of stenciling on my little pouch.

The outcome was better than the other as you can see.. :)

miniature monogram for this little pouch

And for my tote bag,

Tadaaa~~ The tote bag is done! :D

Assignment 2- "Monograms"- [Replacement Item]

So today I went to Sunway and bought objects to replace my failed paper box. I had also buy another back-up item just in case any unfortunate case happen again. Thanks loads to Afie for fetching to Sunway, if not, I had no idea how to go then. Maybe fly there? :)

Yes, I bought paper box again but this is different from my previous one. As for my back-up item are the Glassine bag set. I found that this item is cute so I just bought it. I bought these items from Daiso, as everyone know, Daiso have everything we can find! :D

I went to the Popular and bought the Fabric Dye since Afie told me that the result would be the same like Fabric Paint. Now that I have what I want, I can start paint my tote bag, face towel and little pouch.

I actually got a lot back-up items. I got socks that I bought it from my hometown :)

Assignment 2- "Monograms"- [Awakening!] Part 1

I used spray for my monogram and it was the first time for me doing spray paint because usually I just randomly spray something like..
My spray art design LOL

First object is my drawing book. The original front page looks kinda old and dirty so I decided to spray a layer of black then only start with my monograms on it.

The surface is shiny and sparkling because of the 'bling-bling' black spray

Second object is the file clipper board. I tried for an experiment on this by trying to make out two different colors on my monogram since one color is too mainstream. I used black and white spray for it and using a paper to cover the other part so that it won't ruin it.

In progress of my second object

The next object is my Iphone case. I had never used it for once and I kept it for like one years in my house. There's a secret in this phone case and I'll show it next time. :) I'm using black color spray again for this although Ms. Lisa had suggested me red color. For some reason, I think that when I spray it black color of my monogram, it will looks cool. So I bet on it. However, things doesn't go well and it's not because of the color. I can't say that it was a successful work for this.. another failure maybe? Spray is so hard to control..

In progress :)

My next object is a paper box and it failed miserably. I think that I had sprayed too much on it caused it too watery on my monogram part so it doesn't ended out well. I sprayed the whole paper box later and create another different style for it. The outcome was good at first but then it ruined again. So I guess I'll need to buy other objects to replace this. :(

Paper box failed..

Right now, I'm only left a tote bag, cute face towel and a small pouch to paint on. Ohh! And another mysterious object to replace the place of my poor paper box... T^T

Assignment 2- "Monograms"- [Stenciling] Part 2

I showed Ms. Lisa my monograms that I had cut out. Unfortunately, Ms. Lisa said that my monograms was a bit off-shape at the center part so I had to redo everything again.

Off-shaped first design

I have to apologize that I had wasted plenty of papers for this..

P/s: Just for fun :)

So I start adjusting my monogram and it will be perfect this time!

Remaking of my monogram. Upgrading....

Then Ms.Lisa approved and I can start again working out with the stenciling.

Final outcome of my monogram!

So I successfully cut out from transparent paper and continue-ing cutting for other sizes that I prefer. This time I just photocopy few sizes that I wanted to stencil it on the six mediums.
